For newcomers to Tokyo, I recommend to explore " Tokyo Intercultural Portal Site " first. This is a website operated by Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation "TSUNAGARI", a public interest incorporated foundation.  It provides basic information that foreigners should know about living in Japan, in multiple languages.

For example, procedures, housing/lifestyle, transportation, children, school, work, money, pensions/welfare, illness/injury, emergencies, and disasters.

You can also search for consultation centers and support organizations.

There is a button at the top of the screen that says "Add hiragana," so try using it when reading the Japanese version.

相談窓口や支援団体を探すこともできます。

画面上部の「ひらがなをつける」があるので、日本語版を読む時に使ってみてください。

"A  Daily Life Support Portal  for Foreign Nationals" is a website run by the Immigration Services Agency of Japan.

日本の生活・仕事に関する制度について、多言語で詳しく説明されています。

「やさしい日本語」版の生活ガイドは、ひらがな付きで、日本語学習者向けです。

Webサイトを開くと、日本語の画面になります。

画面の左下にある言語ボタンから、表示言語を選んでください。

In Tokyo, electricity and gas contracts are generally made with either TEPCO or TOKYO GAS.

It is possible to contract for electricity with TEPCO and gas with TOKYO GAS,

but if you contract for both electricity and gas with TEPCO/TOKYO GAS,

you will have a single window to contact you,

which will save you the trouble of applying and paying twice.

東京の電力・ガスは、一般的にTEPCOまたはTOKYO GASで契約します。

電力をTEPCOで契約、ガスをTOKYO GASで契約することも可能ですが、

電力・ガスの両方をTEPCO/TOKYO GASで契約すると、窓口が１つになるので

Open the website and switch to English, Chinese, or Korean by clicking "Language" in the top right of the screen.

When you apply for a contract, you can choose your payment method and billing method.
