If you search in the Tokyo metropolitan area (Tokyo/Kanagawa/Saitama/Chiba/Tochigi),

you can find properties as low as 30,000 yen.

But in the 23 wards of Tokyo, 

it seems that most are between 50,000 and 100,000 yen.

In addition to rent, you may be charged for meals and utilities every month.
